BankLink co-founder invests in Enprise Group

September 16, 2015

Among Enprise’s market announcements made last week, one of the most significant was the investment made by Malcolm MacDonald, one of New Zealand’s most successful tech entrepreneurs, who bought 500,000 Enprise Group (NZAX:ENS) shares at 50 cents each.

In addition to investing in Enprise Group, Malcolm is also in the process of investing directly in to our Datagate business.

Malcolm was one of the founders and directors of BankLink, a very successful accounting software business that had direct data links to all the banks in New Zealand and Australia. BankLink was sold to MYOB in 2013 for $136M.

I am thrilled to have Malcolm join Enprise and Datagate. We have big aspirations for these businesses and Malcolm brings a significant amount of experience, expertise and wisdom to our group to help us achieve them.

Elliot Cooper is new CEO of Enprise Group

September 15, 2015

This month, Enprise co-founder and former CFO, Elliot Cooper has taken up the CEO role at Enprise Group and I have shifted to a new role as CEO of our Cloud start-up business, Datagate Innovation Ltd.

Elliot and I have worked together in a number of technology businesses, starting from PC Direct in the mid 1990’s, then Exonet (creating the software now known as MYOB EXO), then Datasquirt, Enprise and EMS-Cortex.

Elliot was the initial designer of our popular “Enprise Job” Job Costing module for SAP Business One. The product is often praised as having the best General Ledger integration of all the Project Costing modules available for Business One and this is thanks mainly to Elliot’s initial design.

After being the CEO for thirteen years, it makes a nice change for me to go back to running an early stage start-up business, along with another of my long-term colleagues, Steve Southon.

Enprise Group is in good hands with Elliot at the helm. Nobody knows that business better than he does and he’s been there right from the start.

This week Cathy Masters and I traveled to Austin, Texas and attended the ASUG SAP Business One Summit, along with Greg Robinson and Kevin Smith of Enprise America.

This annual ASUG event is a great opportunity to catch up with Enprise’s North American reseller partners along with their customers and prospects.

This year, Cathy and Kevin demonstrated the latest versions of Enprise Job and Enprise Anywhere to our partners and their prospects.

During one of the breakout sessions, Ron Mondor of Zantek IT and Moty Moshin of coresystems demonstrated a fully integrated mobile job costing solution, comprising coresuite time, Enprise Job and SAP Business One.

Enprise adds North American presence

August 19, 2015

PilotSolutions1

Enprise Software has recently partnered with USA-based Pilot Solutions to be “Enprise North America”, offering local sales, technical and implementation support to North American Enprise channel partners.

The United States and Canada are very important, strategic markets for Enprise. Our new North American office offers local support in North American time zones. It gives our network of American and Canadian partners access to specialist resources that extend their own teams when dealing with Enprise add-ons. These include pre-sales engagements, marketing and lead development as well as implementation and consulting services.

In addition to our new local presence, we have some great new products, like “Enprise Anywhere” and “Enprise Job for SAP HANA” which we think will drive more sales for the North American channel.

Greg Robinson and Kevin Smith of Pilot Solutions (pictured above in Miami, Florida) have been friends of mine and the Enprise team for many years. They have an exceptionally good level of knowledge and experience around Enprise products and the SAP Business One channel.

I’m extremely glad to have Greg, Kevin and the Pilot team working in North America, as part of the Enprise team.

“Enprise Anywhere” hits North America

June 7, 2015

Cathy Masters demonstrates Enprise Anywhere top an SAP Business One partner

Enprise Software’s newest product, “Enprise Anywhere” has been well received by the North American SAP Business One channel, with several large orders received within days of the product’s release.

Enprise Anywhere is a mobile extension of our popular “Enprise Job” solution and allows mobile workers to look up and update job information from out in the field, using a tablet or smart phone.

Last week, Enprise Software GM Cathy Masters and I met with our North American partners at the SAP Business One Innovation Summit in Miami. Everyone there was upbeat about the many exciting new product innovations from SAP and from solution partners like Enprise.

Of particular interest was SAP’s demonstration of the new HTML5 version of SAP Business One, which looks just like the Windows version, has similar capabilities and runs in a web browser. This will be an ideal companion to Enprise Anywhere, where the emphasis of the Business One suite is moving towards the browser.

New senior consultant for Enprise in Melbourne

May 30, 2015

This week we gained a new senior consultant and team leader for our Melbourne branch. Sean Cooper has extensive experience in a number of mid-market ERP systems, in particular MYOB EXO and MYOB Advanced.

Sean Cooper

We are delighted to welcome Sean to our team. His appointment lifts Enprise’s local capability to implement and support both MYOB EXO and MYOB Advanced in Australia, particularly the Melbourne region.

Enprise’s rapid growth in 2015 starts now

February 10, 2015

This week Enprise has announced a three-part initiative to kick this year off to a strong start. With an acquisition, a brand new Cloud ERP and a share purchase plan, we’re putting new products, improved customer service and business expansion firmly on the 2015 agenda.

GlobalBizpro_logo

Firstly; Enprise has acquired the MYOB practice of GlobalBizpro, formerly our primary competitor in the New Zealand MYOB EXO market and formerly the second largest New Zealand based MYOB EXO reseller, after us. This acquisition adds a further 142 MYOB EXO customers to our New Zealand client base and around $1.6M to our top-line revenue, including around $762K of contracted recurring revenue per annum.

We welcome the GlobalBizpro team members into our team, giving us a larger pool of qualified and experienced ERP professionals to give “Gold Standard” service and support to our ever-expanding customer base.

Secondly; our increased scale as an MYOB Enterprise partner (the largest in New Zealand and the only MYOB Enterprise partner with branches on both sides of the Tasman), places us well to be the leading sales partner for the newly announced “MYOB Advanced” Cloud ERP platform.

The Cloud is a major driver of business IT innovation and investment. MYOB Advanced has everything going for it to become the dominant mid-market Cloud ERP for New Zealand and Australia – because it is a brand new (yet well proven in America) Cloud ERP, using the latest technology, from Australasia’s largest and leading business software vendor.

I see this as a very exciting and significant new offering and addition to our business in both New Zealand and Australia.

Thirdly; we are launching a Share Purchase Plan (SPP) offering all Enprise Group shareholders as at 20th February 2015 the opportunity to buy up to 30,000 ENS shares at 50 cents each.

This offer enables shareholders to participate further in Enprise Group’s growth and value creation strategies. It also strengthens our balance sheet and increases our cash reserves to fund ongoing expansion activities, including investment in MYOB Advanced Cloud ERP capabilities as well as the GlobalBizpro and other acquisitions.

All four of the company’s directors, including myself, will be buying shares in the SPP, either directly or indirectly.

New products, improved customer service and business expansion are firmly on our 2015 agenda. This is where it starts.

Enprise acquires MYOB partner, GlobalBizpro

February 9, 2015

GlobalBizpro_logo

Today Enprise Group announced its acquisition of the MYOB practice of New Zealand software services company, Global Bizpro Ltd. The deal brings together two top MYOB Enterprise partners to form a combined business with around 850 mid-market business customers and by far the largest team of qualified MYOB consultants in New Zealand, with branches in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Sydney and Melbourne.

From a customer perspective the deal continues our strategy to grow our business by striving to deliver the very best customer service and support for MYOB EXO customers across Australia and New Zealand – “The Gold Standard in MYOB EXO service”. The Global Bizpro acquisition adds scale and further depth of expertise to the Enprise team and improves our ability to give exceptionally good service and support to our customers.

The additional scale and resources are also important as we ramp up to support MYOB’s powerful new mid-market Cloud ERP software “MYOB Advanced”. I predict that MYOB Advanced will take the New Zealand and Australian ERP market by storm this year.

MYOB EXO is the leading business software solution used by mid-sized companies and organizations across New Zealand and Australia. MYOB EXO is a client server, on-premise solution which is still the preference of many businesses.

Other businesses are looking for a Cloud solution. MYOB Advanced is a very powerful and sophisticated Cloud offering. It leapfrogs existing Cloud competitors and we already have a number of new customers who are ready to go with MYOB Advanced.

Accordingly we have invested considerably in upskilling to provide the same levels of support for MYOB Advanced as we do for MYOB EXO. We see a strong future for both MYOB products.
